Privacy Policy (Website)
This privacy policy applies to the website www.shakesnap.app.
The ShakeSnap mobile app has its own privacy policy: App Privacy Policy.
1. Controller
The controller within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
Boris Vahl
c/o IP-Management #12161
Ludwig-Erhard-Str. 18
20459 Hamburg, Germany
Email: info@shakesnap.app
2. Principle: no cookies, no tracking
This website is a purely static information page. It uses:
- no cookies,
- no analytics or tracking tools,
- no advertising networks,
- no contact forms,
- no sign-up and no user accounts.
No cookies are set and no information is stored on your device. A cookie banner is therefore not required.
No embedded third-party content
Every part of this page — fonts, images and scripts — is served exclusively from our own web space. In particular, no Google Fonts, no CDNs and no external image services are embedded. Opening the page therefore makes no connection to third-party servers, and your IP address is not passed on to third parties.
The page contains links to external services (e.g. Unsplash, the App Store, Google Play). These are only contacted when you actively click such a link. From that point on, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies.
3. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by:
GitHub, Inc.
88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA
(GitHub Pages; GitHub is a subsidiary of Microsoft Corporation)
When you visit the website, the host automatically collects and stores information that your browser transmits, in so-called server log files. This usually includes:
- the IP address of the requesting device,
- the date and time of access,
- the file or URL requested,
- the amount of data transferred,
- browser type and operating system,
- where applicable, the previously visited page (referrer).
This data is technically necessary to deliver the website and to ensure its stability and security. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and reliable operation of the website).
Transparency note: The log files are collected and managed solely by GitHub. We have no access to them and cannot influence how long they are kept. We do not combine this data with any other data sources.
Transfer to the USA
GitHub, Inc. is based in the USA, so a transfer of personal data (in particular your IP address) to the USA cannot be ruled out. Microsoft and its subsidiaries, including GitHub, are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. In its adequacy decision of 10 July 2023, the European Commission found that certified companies provide an adequate level of data protection. The transfer is based on this adequacy decision under Art. 45 GDPR.
For more information, see GitHub's privacy statement: https://docs.github.com/site-policy/privacy-policies/github-general-privacy-statement
4. Retention
We do not store any personal data ourselves in connection with your visit to this website. How long server log files are kept is determined by the host.
If you contact us by email, we store your enquiry, including any personal data it contains, for as long as necessary to handle it, or for as long as statutory retention periods require. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
5. Your rights
You have the right at any time to:
- access the personal data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR),
- erasure (Art. 17 GDPR),
- restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR),
- object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR).
To exercise these rights, please use the contact details above.
Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
Without prejudice to any other remedy, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state of your habitual residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged infringement (Art. 77 GDPR).
6. SSL/TLS encryption
For security reasons, this site uses TLS encryption. You can recognise an
encrypted connection by the browser's address bar showing https:// instead of
http://.
7. Changes to this privacy policy
We will update this privacy policy whenever changes to the website or to the legal situation require it.
